ABOUT US
Women in Engineering Cameroon (WEC) is a Non-Governmental Organization founded by a group of women who share common interests and have overcome stereotypes that link masculinity to engineering in the past. our Testimonials
“My classmates (boys) used to tell me I can’t succeed in the civil engineering field because I’m a girl. They would tell me that my friends are studying nursing, marketing, law, accounting, etc and I’m here wasting my time thinking I will become a civil engineer. All those side talks discouraged me greatly such that I started doubting myself succeeding in the profession. The day I met my mentor and eventually joined WEC as a mentee, I experienced a turnaround in my career. I’m so overwhelmed with self-confidence and a feeling of being capable to overcome any challenge in my career.”

“Within this short period that I was admitted in WEC as a mentee, I have learned how to network with people I have never met before. Discussing with WEC mentors and learning from their inspiring stories on how they overcame barriers in the past make me develop more passion for the engineering profession and feel like a super hero already.”
